About Ponten (2044m) Ski Tour
The Ponten Ski Tour is one of the most traveled Ski Tours in the Allgäu. The climb up i relatively straight forward and the descent is quick, clean and extremely steep in places. The tour is used almost every day throughout the winter, although it can be threatened by avalanches.

The start location for the Ponten Ski Tour is at the Wannenjochlift Carpark (5 Euro per day). The carpark is a good size and has plenty of spaces. However, this area is very popular for winter activities and places and fill up fast especially during public holidays.
Ascent
You can start the Ponten ski tour from the S end of the carpark travel SW, first crossing over the blue slope and the hand-railing the E side of the steep embankment, continue in this direction until you have reached the Stuiben Sennalpe (1403 m). Alternatively you can reach the Stuiben Sennalpe from the carpark by following the Pontental blue ski piste until you have reached 1218m, turning right onto the Stuiben Piste, which will lead you to the Sennalpe. Now head SW through the large cirque (called “Güntle”) to the north facing slope between Ponten and Bschießer. Climb up to the ridge in a SE direction, then continue E to the summit.
Descent
At the Summit sign the book, clip in and enjoy this fast ride on this facing slope back to the Stuiben Sennalpe. The initial start of the descent can be extremely steep in places, so choose you line carefully. At the Stuiben Sennalpe join the piste and ride it back to the Carpark.
